Sewing machines, closing bags, sacks, belong to the group of industrial sewing machines. There are two types of bag machines, these are portable and static. Portable bag sewing machines are therefore of the portable type, the worker holds it in his hand and sews the opening of the bag with some contents. Most often they are agricultural products, flour, chemicals of all kinds, seeds, fodder ... less often cement and construction products .... etc, the same goes for stable ones. Static bag closing machines are fixed to the carrier, usually above the moving conveyor belt, where the worker only guides the edge of the bag to the machine and the rest is automated with automatic thread cutting.
Portable bag machines are usually mounted on a so-called "balancer", the role of the balancer is to keep the machine static but it requires very little force to run it, the problem is that these machines weigh about 5 kg and more, depending on the model and long holding the machine in your hand would be impossible and the correct operation would be poor. The balancer ensures that the machine produces a nice and flat stitch.
Hang the bag sewing machine on the balancer about 10 cm above the bag to be sewn. In smaller production plants, the machine is transferred, which makes the job more difficult. There are portable machines that can be fixed to the conveyor belt if necessary, and also removed and transferred to the appropriate position for sewing the bag.
Let's go back to the bag sewing machine itself: these are machines of a rather "simple" construction, most often with one needle and one thread, although there are also with one needle and two threads or with two needles. The sewing machine for bags with one needle and two threads, upper and lower, produces a slightly stronger stitch, from the "face" it is like a flat stitch on an ordinary machine, and from the back it is the so-called chain stitch. There is no classic "shottle hook" for the lower thread, it is a mechanism similar to the coverstitch machine. The upper thread is "caught" by a thicker hooked "needle" (looper).
The thread in some models is protected by a plastic basket, which prevents unnecessary delays due to hanging the thread, there is a special thread for sewing bags and its thickness is usually about 10. Sewing the bag is done in three ways, it is usually closing, sewing with single or double folding and sewing with extra-crepe tape, the extra tape can be a combination of paper and thin textile. The needle plate and feet are at a certain angle from the front for easier acceptance of the material, we know that bags are made of anything and everything, but ...
mostly it is: paper, nylon fabrics, jute, a combination of fabric and paper ... because of that angle there is no need to lift the foot, the lower transport teeth (feed dog) have a large oscillation of movement and easily accept and pull the material. Some caution is required when working with these machines, although injuries are very rare.
When the bag is sewn on the other side of the machine, there is a thread cutter into which the end is simply inserted and the machine starts briefly, thus cutting it. In the attached pictures we can also see the bowls with oil that are on...
the machine itself as well as a small pump to the bowl, why is this necessary.?
These are industrial machines that are quite loaded, the thickness of the needle is usually 2 mm, if we add to that that the working conditions are in constant dust, then more frequent and abundant lubrication is inevitable, especially with abrasive materials. In addition to regular lubrication, it is necessary to hook the foot, needle and thread catcher well with air at least once in a couple of days and lubricate it solidly. With abrasive materials, this is necessary on a daily basis, or you will have to change the parts that are essentially "consumables" for this type of machine: needle plate, lower conveyor (feed dog), needles (needle DNx1 - 200/25), thread catcher, timing belt .Electromotors on the bag sewing machine is usually up to 150W of power, the stitch speed is from 1500-1800 stitches per minute, on some models there is a special potentiometer for regulation or it is located directly on the main switch, the stitch length is fixed and ranges around 6-7 mm...
Osim redovnog podmazivanja potrebno je bar jednom u par dana dobro otprašiti zrakom stopicu, iglenjaču i hvatač konca i solidno podmazati.
