What is metallic thread and what is it for? Metallic thread is used for embroidery and decorative sewing, decorative stitching. Metallic thread is in principle never used for ordinary sewing.

The metallic thread consists of two parts, it is the central thread and the metallized sheath. Metallic thread can be of different compositions, thickness, strength, color, shine, quality ... etc. Thin metallized thread is used for machine embroidery where it is necessary to emphasize very small details, by increasing the thickness the possibility of displaying details is reduced, for manual embroidery thicker metallic thread is mainly used.
