The Bernina 730 Record and Bernina 830 Record are two of the most respected vintage sewing machines produced by Bernina. Both models are well known among sewing enthusiasts, collectors and sewing-machine technicians, and both have earned a reputation for solid mechanical construction, durability and precise sewing performance.
At first glance, the two machines are clearly related. Their overall construction, mechanical layout and many individual components are very similar. The Bernina 830 Record, however, is not simply another version of the 730. It represents a further development of the same basic mechanical concept, with a number of carefully introduced changes and simplifications.
