Singer 45k is an old model of an industrial sewing machine (flat bed or cylinder bed depending on model), the production lasted for about 50 years, approximately from 1895-1945. Some models were solved a little later around 1950. You can determine the time and place of production on the serial number of your Singer machine.

Due to its quality, the Singer 45k is still in use worldwide today, its robust construction and quality materials have had the greatest impact on its longevity. Singer 45k is mainly intended for difficult working conditions, below is a list of most models with their basic characteristics. I do not rule out the possibility of an error in the data because I also found most of the data on the Internet.

Singer 45k1 drop feed 250 mm to right of needle, cylinder shuttle, possible heating attachment, needle bar link; max. stitch 9.5 mm. Speed 900 spm for general work up to 12.7 mm thick in leather and cloth. 

Singer 45k5 Drop feed, flat bed, needle bar link, roller presser foot, max. stitch 9.5 mm. Speed 600 spm, for leather work.

Singer 45k11  Drop feed, flat bed, needle bar link, max. stitch 12.7 mm, 600 spm, for cloth work. (1953)

Singer 45k21  needle bar link, drop feed. Two speed balance wheel, Speed 900 spm, for bags and cylindrical work.

Singer 45k25  Cylinder bed, drop feed, needle bar link, roller presser foot, Speed 900 spm for sewing general work in heavy leather.

Singer 45k41  Cylinder bed, drop feed, needle bar link, special feed dog, speed 900 spm. Fitted with 1 plain presser foot and roller for helmet work, leather and textiles.

Singer 45k42  Singer replacement 45K53.

Singer 45k48 Cylinder shuttle hook, needle bar link. Two speed balance wheel; Lifting presser. For darning or patching bags, s peed 400 spm.

Singer 45k49  as 45K48 Speed 400 spm; Flat work plate available for cylinder models.

Singer 45k53 Independent upper and lower feeds,either suspendable, Speed 500 spm. For general saddlery, footballs, bags... (1949)

Singer 45k56 Cylinder bed, drop feed, needle bar link. Vibrating and climbing presser. For general saddlery, bag and portmanteau, rubber heel work... Replaced  45K89.

Singer 45k57 Cylinder bed, drop feed, needle bar link, lifting presser foot. Friction controlled balance wheel and work plate. For darning and patching sacks.

Singer 45k58 Drop Feed, flat bed, vibrating and climbing pressers foot. For general saddlery, bags, portmanteaux, cloth, canvas work, leather...

Singer 45k63 Cylinder bed. Oil bath for thread

Singer 45k65  No feeding mechanism, similar to 45K48 but without feed motion parts;

Singer 45k66 Formerly 45KSV60. For heavy boots and shoes. Compound take-up, gas heating device for hot wax stitching, roller presser foot, speed 700 spm.

Singer 45k67 formerly 45Ksv58. "sv - Special Variety Machines" For saddlery and heavy leather, figh lift, stitches material up to 8.7 mm thick. Compound take-up. Vibrating and climbing presser. cylinder shuttle. Speed 350 spm.

Singer 45k68  Drop feed, cylinder bed, Needle bar cam, compound take-up and high lift. For stitching soles up to 15.8 mm thick. 

Singer 45k69 Needle bar cam, drop feed, compound take-up and high lift. Stitch length max. 6.3 mm. For stitching soles on shoes (max. 15.8 mm).

Singer 45k71  Drop feed, cylinder bed, needle bar cam, compound take-up, high lift and climbing presser foot, fitted with hand attachment. For stitching soles up to 15.8 mm thick.

Singer 45k72  Singer replacement 45K70 fitted with Spirit Heating Device.

Singer 45k74  Replaced by 45K76

Singer 45k75  Cylinder bed, no feeding mechanism. needle bar link, lifting presser foot. Friction controlled balance wheel and work plate. Fast and loose pulleys and belt shipper. For sack darning.
